Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long is a private applicator license valid?

A private applicator license is valid for 5 years and expires on April 30 of the fifth year after issuance.

  • How often are CEUs required for commercial applicators?

Commercial applicators must complete 24 CEUs during their license period, attend the Commercial Re-certification School, or retake category exams.

  • Do I need a business license in Wyoming?

No. Wyoming certifies the individual applicator rather than the company. However, any business selling restricted-use pesticides must hold a Pesticide Dealer License ($25.00) for each location.

  • Can I earn all my credits online?

Yes. Wyoming allows for online recertification through state-approved providers, provided you complete the 24 required hours before your license expires on January 31st.

  • Does Wyoming offer reciprocity?

Yes. Non-residents can apply for a reciprocal license ($25.00) if they hold a valid license in a state that offers the same to Wyoming residents. States often included are MT, NE, SD, UT, and ID.

  • Does Wyoming allow CEU disputes?

Yes. Applicators may submit documentation such as agendas and sign-in records to dispute missing CEUs.
