Renewing your pest control license in New York is straightforward when you understand the state's process. How to renew your New York pest control license

Renewal deadline · December 31st annually for all licenses

  1. Determine whether you are certified as a Commercial Applicator, Commercial Technician, or Private Applicator.

  2. Confirm your certification cycle length (3-year or 5-year) and expiration date in the NYSPAD system.

  3. Complete the required number of DEC-approved recertification credits for each certified category.

  4. Ensure you have a photo on file with the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (NYSDMV) for issuance of your pesticide ID card.

  5. Submit your recertification application and credits through the NYSPAD portal or as instructed by NYSDEC.

  6. Pay certification fees after receiving an invoice from NYSDEC.

  7. Receive your updated pesticide certification card once processing is complete.
