    Yes. Private applicators (farmers) must earn 8 recertification credits every five years to maintain their certification without re-testing.

  • Can I carry over extra credits to next year?

    No. Vermont does not allow credits to be carried over between recertification cycles.

  • Does Vermont offer reciprocity?

    Yes. Reciprocal agreements exist with New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. You must reside in the state where you are currently licensed to qualify. The fee is $30 per category.

  • What happens if I miss the December 31st deadline?

    You may not legally apply or supervise pesticide use until your renewal is processed. Renewals received more than 30 days past expiration incur a $27.00 late fee.

  • Where can I find exam study materials?

    Vermont uses the Northeast Core Manual for the general exam and specific manuals for categories, often ordered through Cornell University or UVM Extension.
